Insurance issue

Anybody know any coverage I can get for being a hired captain on other peoples boats. I have been doing tons of this for years and never knew until this spring that I was flying naked for liability. The only way around it I have found is for the people who own the boat to take out a one day policy for me. This seems cumbersome and will probably force me to give up this part of my business if I can't get some coverage that will follow me.

you as well as everone else on any given boat are covered by that boats insurance assuming the owner of the boat has insurance if you are on a boat and the owner has let his policy lapse or cancel you are on your own at that point the boat owner would have personel liability.
