There are aerial photos somewhere out there in internet land of the Cape beaches that show hundreds of sharks all swimming in and around all the people at the beach. Nobody even knew they were there. If people knew that there were that many sharks within feet of them swimming they would never go in the water again. Very rare for them to ever even let their presence be known and they are very common on the Cape. There is a bunch of guy's that shark fish from the beach during the summer up there and they catch some very large sharks. I think they use dead eels as the sharks love them. This time of year i would agree that they are probably Sand Tigers or Brown Sharks the water is just too cold for the Bull's and other warmer water species. Could have been small white sharks though as they seem to like colder water with no ill effects plus there are plenty of seals around as well.

Did you tell him to get that fish the hell out of your shop since sand Tigers are protected?....There is a great sand Tiger fishery at the mouth of the delaware bay....200+ lb fish and lots of them if you know where to look....even though it is technicaly illegal to even target them.....lots of fun.

I have hooked a couple in scituate, and I know that Duxbury Bay has 43 tagged fish that NOAA is studying.

sand tigers are the sharks that are in all the aquariums. Nasty looking teeth, but I heard they are pretty harmless.

Sand Tiger would be my guess as well. I've hooked two in the Annisquam, and buddy in Machester has gotten a few as well. Nasty teeth
