Tides and Charts. A pretty nice chart app that links to Active Captain, so you can get reviews of services and find fuel in strange ports, etc. Not free, but worth it.
Buoyweather. It's not a free app, but if you want to keep track of the forecast at your favorite canyon, it's a good app.

Crab mustard is good
A little late but I thought I would add,, We navigated from NJ to home at some points 30 miles offshore for 230 miles with an I phone because the GPS went dead.... I was amazed at how accurate it was and it had all the detail including marina information etc.....
I could not imagine what ancient mariners would think.

Just bought a 65' hat!
APs I use for fishing
1. "EarthNC" is a great APP for a back up chart plotter for Droid phones, you can save waypoints, tracks, speed, direction and so much more. The EarthNC Lite version is free, it is great if you fish inshore with a cell signal, the normal "HD" version lets you download maps and save them to phone so you can use it offshore and it's only $9.99. Try the Lite version first and see if you like it, if you do it' well worth the $10. for the full version.
2. "TideAPP" is another free App that covers most tides, more than any other APP I have tried. The down fall is that it freezes up some times so you have to restart it. For a free APP I find it to be the best.
3. "StormEye" is another free APP that I use for weather Radar that works great. Weather Radar APP saved my ASS a bunch of times this season being able to follow storms and est. how much time i have till it hits where I am.
4. "Morse CT" is a fun APP to teach you Morse Code.
5. "CardStar" is another APP that I use all the time. You can put all your store point cards on, like my West Marine, Boat US, Stop & Shop, Etc. CardStar lets you save all your cards to 1 APP so no more having to carry all those cards in your wallet or Key chain.

Relative to many weather apps it is pricey at $9.99, but there is no radar app that comes even close to Radarscope. I highly recommend it.
Another useful one is Phases, which, as you can guess, shows moon phases...
