Wow what a boat!!!

"Fortunate One" your boat is Nice!! (Kerry's Word for everything Awesome) I just spent a good portion of the afternoon catching up on your thread after catching a couple of BFT this morning.

I noticed the plywood helm? I thought I was supposed to design around the wheel so all through the build I could sit there and dream By the looks of your ship building skills you are probably going to make your own wheel?

It would be a sin for me to own a boat as nice as yours. I would have to have a HASMAT wash down before anyone got on board.

My Boat is not going to have all the extras I see on your ship.

Working Mans Charter boat thats what we are going to end up with.

Can not wait to see her ( your boat) out on the Bank straddled to a fatty.

Greg,

I wish I were out chasing and landing BFT's instead of being in the office.

The design of your boat looks great.

You're going after a totally different animal than mine.

You're doing the work boat thing and to me that's still an exciting proposition.

It’s all a compromise but there’s nothing like setting up a boat for your own purposes especially if it's your livelihood.
By incorporating little things you’re going to make the vessel more enjoyable to work. And you can also plan for upgrades now and implement the changes later. In the build stage it doesn’t cost a lot to run a few extra wires or drop in a thru-hull for later use.

If you plan it correctly you can fit it out on a tight budget and make yourself one hell of a working vessel.

I'm biased towards the Yanmars for the reason you mentioned. Light weight and low profiles and Great on fuel, which you should take into account since fuel is a big part of your expenses.

I wouldn't hesitate to put one in a commercial boat fishing the bay. It's not like you're going to be out dragging the bottom. They make a great product. Everyone I know that has them has been very satisified.

Just a frendly word of advice.

Dont mix personal assets with business ones, so Dont put your home up as colateral unless you Really dont mind loosing it.

What happens if the tree huggers shut down the tuna fishery and you loose 50% of your charter biz??

Best of luck

PS My yanmar ROCKS!

i would think you would want to wait until atleast march when the cites vote takes place. there wont be much use for a boat like that if the vote goes wrong. good luck if you do decide to go ahead with it.
