What about Saif Al Islam Kaddafi? You don't think the Libyans are loading up Korean freezer vessels in Tripoli with tonnage of juvenile Bluefin from the Gulf of Sidra?

How about the Maltese? Could Anthony Gruppetta (Ministry of Fisheries) be looking the other way when Charlie Azzopardi conducts sea transfers of undeclared tuna onto Taiwanese boats?

Of course its impossible that Francisco Fuentes is still sneaking undeclared Bluefin into 40 foot Mitsubishi freezer containers in Cartagena!

And naturally the Cypriots, Syrians and Croatians are all playing by the rules this year and Anzai Yasutochi isn't forging ICCAT documention to import non-compliant production from rogue Mediterranean producers...
This gets my vote for post of the year. You have to have either lived over there or spent ALOT of time there to see how they live and think. Believe me, they operate in another world from how we as Americans live and see life. I hope that they will change, but my experience is that they will just find other ways around laws and restrictions. Thirtly years ago, I remember watching those Jacques Cousteau, Sr. specials on TV (with rabbit ears - not cable), and he was harping back then that the Med was a dead sea. Unfortunately, it is even worse today.
