How to keep stuff on the console?

Anybody have a solution for that problem of the stuff that slides off the top of your center console....

I have a small CC, and the console has the standard short windshield keeps stuff from flying off the front.....but I have not found a solution for keeping stuff from flying off and LANDING on the wheel, hitting the console switches, smacking me in the legs.....

I couldn't find a good photo of my console dash....but its a standard setup.....

Is there somebody out there with a solution?

The boat I work on, the dash is covered in a grooved rubber mat, I cant find it as I'm not exactly sure what its called. not held down by anything just slaps up there and keeps things like phones, wallets, glasses, small spools of line etc in place.

Another idea that could work would be simply a piece of yoga mat up there, mat itself should stay put and keep the small stuff from flying around.

I know the problem your having though, happens to me on my families little 15 ft CC as well, damn near had my phone break my toe one day, thing came off the top of the console at about mach 7.

Friggin' OUCH...I know that feeling, 8 oz sinkers do similar damage.

And yes, I'm thinking about that rubber mat thing.....the tool chest drawer liner (Craftsman tools).....like Clambo suggests....

Anybody have pics.....I was also thinking of a shelf rim, like a 2 inch high starboard edging, maybe blind-screwed from inside the console....wonder if anybody has done that on SFC??

    Teak

I installed three pieces of teak along the edges of console to create a lip. A long piece across the front then two short pieces down the side where they meets my windshield. They are about an3/4 in high and keep items from sliding off quite well and it looks really nice.

I agree with what gmoney mentioned about the rubber matting. I would also throw in some of that stuff you put in cabinets to keep glasses and dishes from sliding as an option. Also I have a smaller CC ('07 23 pro line sport) and use some holders with suction cup to keep things like pliers and little things like that from flying all around. Seems to work pretty well. Ill try to dig up some pics. I know what you mean though, I hate seeing stuff hit my foot and worse the deck of the boat!!
