This is not as sleek as teak, but I take the flexible cover off my console mounted Garmin and nestle it upside down on the dash, between my VHF and the Garmin. That combined with the 1/4 round piece of trim on the top of the near dash, it provides an improved tray for cell phone and other small stuff.

    Yah, GPE

And what's the material that your 1/4 round trim is made of? Sounds like a viable option there Cappy

    plano boxes

I got this one from the Canyon runner seminar in 2009.

I have 3800 series Plano cases with four (4) large suction cups screwed through the bottom. I clean the gelcoat with acetone and make sure the suction cups are brand new. I press them down real hard to squeeze out all the air and did this once when I first got the boat.

I have used it offshore all last year and not once did it even budge.

The Plano boxes have lids with a latch that keep everything in place when I go flying off the backside of some chop etc.

What do you use the laptop for? Can you check sfc for live report updates?

Whoa! AT-G, that's the best solution I've seen yet....more gear stored, visible, accessible, out of the rain/spray.....and movable!

    Damn~! appreciate that sir!

    No problem.

Finally, I get to give a little something back. God knows I have learned soooooo much from the guys on this site.

I use my laptop for Marine wireless site surveys and troubleshooting.

We did a scan of one of the docks in Woods hole to document their coverage at the dock and beyond.

I do have EVDO and a VERY powerful cellular repeater on board. Meaning - anywhere I go, which isn't that far from land, I can Get and put email etc.
