Left the Niantic, Ct around 2am Saturday morning. Great ride flat all the way out. Got to the horns around 4-4:30, flat as can be, set up a slick with in a Hour a small Mako show up and stuck around for a while, a few hits but nothing landed. 4 Hrs later we headed further south, about 15 miles, power chumed to start ( not much of a drift ). After around 2 hours and alot of chunks, a big blue showed up around 9 +, landed that one, then another Mako showed up, small, but he came to the boat.we stopped fishing for a while there were so many blue sharks, I had a bass spinning rod on board, tied on a leader and a chunk, a blue 8+ hit it , pretty damm good fight, released at the boat unharmed.
All in all it was a perfect day, we did not bring home any keepers, but we had fun , saw alot of fish, and most important, we made it home safe.
I heard a mayday go out, I think they were s-sw of Montauk, Any one hear anything ? I hope everyone is ok
Good luck to everyone, be safe out there................
