Hit the Window Part III 10/30/09

Was skeptical of NOAA's forecasted 3-5s/ 4-6s so I decided to run. Left Green Harbor around 5:00 am and made our way to the souther edge of the bank with intentions of pushing out east.

As we passed the south east corner everything looked good, we pulled up and dropped 'em. Pushed east, had fish here and there, nothing concentrated. Had great marks right on the south east corner and decided to stick it out there for the morning slack.

Worked the corner hard with only a big swing and miss to show for it. After slack we worked up the eastern edge above the casting fleet and finally came tight all by ourselves. Within 2 min of putting a small 47" in the box we were tight again. After a brief fight we pulled the hook on our over fish, and that was it for the day.

All in all a great day on the water considering tomorrow is November!

Took a ton a video, so these were the only pictures I came away with...

Sorry for the delay

My experience proved to be quite similar although I came away with most the pics (I was self-designated cameraman and later rod-man). It was another cold and dark morning aboard the Qualifier. It seemed as if everyone and their mother were catching fish. One boat said they were hooked up with their 5th of the day and we hadn't even gotten bit!

Per usual we stayed away from the chaos and found our own tuna. The weather turned out to be fantastic and the captain was sporting his brokeback grundens look. Team Qualifier will be back again this week. This time Sparky has a trick up his sleeve.....

Here are a few pics I came away with.

Is that you with the small Grady. It was parked at the empty dirt lot at the corner of the road to the ramp @ GH, attached to a Jeep earlier this week? We talked one day at the ramp. We had a great day too. Going 4-4, both trolling and live baiting. Hope to be back Thursday for another go round. Great job, gonna get chilly in that rig!

That would be my Grady, she's a good girl. I have hopes of getting out there one more time this season, but I doubt it's gonna happen.....
