Hiller Sports Fishing Report 6-6
Hiller Sports Fishing Report
We are back to our weekly reports. I hope to update this page on a regular basis to keep you updated on the fishing here in Long Island Sound as well as offshore reports.
June 5, 2010
Bass fishing is still going great. Buoy 28C and the OB are hot spots. Bass are being cought on bunker and mackeral chunks fishing the drop offs at almost anytime of day and night. All the fish are 20 to 30 pounds with a couple tipping the scales at 40 pounds. If trolling is your game, try a bunker spoon or a shad rig. Not as many fish but they will be big. Troll them with wire line to get your rig deep.
Bluefish seem to be just about everywhere. They can be found on top in the evening outside of Goose Island and over at the golf course. Chunking is also getting the choppers while people are bass fishing.
The first weakfish I have seen in years has been taken on a worm in the Norwalk Harbor. Drift a sanworm on a fluke rig to catch these guys.
Fluke are still plentiful as well. The same spots have been producing big flats. 26, golf course and behind Copps Island.
If you have any reports of fish, please email me at tuna84@aol.com so I can include them in my reports. Also please send photos as a photo page is coming.
