Here's a different question: How much do you usually tip the mates on a party boat?

Generally I go with 25% of the ticket cost (or my share) of the charter. If the mate does an exceptional job or has to bail my ass out of numerous messes I’ll throw another $20.00 on top.

Just keep in mind, whatever you do, they will remember you on the next trip.

thank you. I don't think I've been very fair to these guys, generally tipping far less than you just mentioned. they do fly all over the boat and bust their butts to give everyone help ... there's no denying how hard they work. I'll have to make it up to them next time!

As a mate on a boat, 15-20% of the ticket/trip cost is pretty fair. But like bottom dweller said, mates always remember regular customers, and if you tip well we will be sure to take care of you. 25% is generous and an extra 20$ for an extra effort would certainly be remembered come next trip.

I generally tip 20% of charter price or my share price. A little extra on top if if something extraordinary occurs.
