i'm replacing the old pumps with new ones. i checked the old macerator pump on my car battery and its dead....when i put the new one in yesterday i couldn't get it to work so its got to be a wiring issue somewhere and dealing with that without help would be like trying to teach myself how to read greek. i'm gonna look at one of the washdown pumps today and see if it's gonna be a simple swap. but i'd like to find a couple numbers too of people that do sidework just incase i need anything done that i can't do

Dumb question, but did you check the breaker? The old one may have tripped it when it went. Radio Shack has testers to check volts, amps, continuity, etc

its not dead, its got line or a bag wrapping up the blade.

Take it out of the bolt ( 2 hoses, 4 screws) and take off the macerator housing and I'll bet a dollar there is a piece of line in there.

Maybe your right. Call the shop. Anyone should be able to fix it. If you need a name/number, shoot me a note.

If you do not have power at the pump and the switch for the pump is on you have a blown fuse or tripped breaker. From the sounds, it is more than likely a fuse. Replace the fuse and test for power again with the volt meter. If you get 12 volts, replacing the fuse solved the problem.
