    Help

I am thinking about flying in for the Monster Shark and not knowing much of the area. Where is the best place to fly in to without a lot of aggrevation?

I can be picked up off the island via boat so that is an option

As for driving how would it take from Old Saybrook and then across, I am pretty sure that it's a 6hr drive from home to Old Saybrook

    Hey LL,
I think your best bet would be to fly into TF Green Airport, Providence, RI and then hop on the fast ferry from Quonset Point (Warwick) RI directly to Oak Bluffs. There is an airport shuttle that will take you from the airport to the ferry, only 15 miles. The fast ferry is about a 90 min. trip.
Here is the link for ferry info:

    Hope this helps,
    Alex

    Mary,
I'd just drive up to the Vineyard. It only takes around 6 hrs and your in Woods Hole and hop the ferry accross. Just make sure you get your ferry reservation now! It's nice having a car on the Island to get around.

if you drive - skip the woodshole ferry - its a pain in the butt - parking sucks, boats slow, too much traffic, and you have to drive all the way to Falmouth.
From New Jersey, just stop in New Bedford, Ma and take the high speed from there. It will save you a couple of hours and parking is cheap.

Otherwise, the suggestion of flying to Green in Providence and taking the Fast Ferry from Quonset is a great idea.

Wrap-Check is absolutley correct if you plan on driving....Avoid the Cape traffic and parking as much as possible. The fast ferry from New Bedford is the way to go...

Here is the link to the fast ferry in New Bedford:
    http://www.nefastferry.com/

If you decide on the New Bedford Fast Ferry, be aware that they arrive on MV either at Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven. So, if you are staying in OB, choose the boat going directly there...Then it is walking distance to the harbor and event tent

    See Ya There!!!

I hope you have already made arrangements for a hotel or have a friend with a house. Will you be fishing in the tourney?

Yup, I concur! New Bedford, better parking situation and less traffic and "stuff" to deal with than getting into the cape, parking miles away from the ferry, 20 minute school bus ride, and slow ferry across to OB...

Also, at this point you'll pay an arm and leg for a hotel IF you can get a room at all in OB...AND if you can get a room in Vineyard Haven, you'll have to hop a cab to OB if you don't have your own transportation.
