    Hello to my heroes

I've been lurking this website for 3 years now and just wanted to formerly say "hello" to all of the kind folks on this board. What most of you do, where you fish and the adventerous experiences you go through truly AMAZES me. I have a small 18' boat and mostly lake fish for whatever is biting including Lake Trout down deep w/the downriggers and the Striped Bass in the springtime when the make their annual trek up the Hudson. To me, all of that is small potatos in comparison to hooking into the mighty Bluefin Tuna! My first experience with these beasts was with Captain Ray on Bass River Charters and second was with Captain Jason on the "Nicole C" where I landed my biggest (just a baby) @ 150 lbs. 3rd was on the Fortuna with Captain Greg. All 3 of these trips have given me memories to last a lifetime! To feel the awesome power of these fish is surreal in a way. I've fished all of my life and consider myself as strong as the next guy, with tuna I'm not in control....they go where they want to go.
I'm headed to Marshfield this weekend and will try some surf action, maybe the storm will stir something up? Also going out on the Black Rose in October with Captain Rich and will report back here after that trip.
Keep doing what your doing everyone! The reports, pictures and awesome discussions is my "skeleton in the closet" as I read, smile and sip my cup of coffee before the day gets on it's way.

Welcome to the best site around, Don't be scared to post as every person can learn from even the greenest fishermen although it looks like you don't need any help from those great pics.

Looks like you have had some "heroic" adventures of your own...

As for fishing heroes, It is just a jerk on one end of the line waiting for a jerk on the other end.

As for Captains, they are just smart enough to drive a boat and dumb enough to think it is some how important.

Getting out with you kids (I assume they are your kids in the photo) and sharing time in a natural setting is what really makes you the hero. Keep up the good work!!!

    Post up more frequently...
