Heading south for tuna
Looks like this weekend is going to blow. But as soon as the weather clears i am heading south. Probably Mud Hole, The Dump area.
Any one been around there yet? Anyone planning on going? |

I'm done to the east/weather permitting
sad to say I'll pass up the 100 pounders for a shot at a few 30 pounders and the chance to explore open spaces at 7 knots.
Skipjack 68/78 - most likely starting ~25 fathoms and working south into the Lanes unless the forecast chills out a bit. |

time will tell
no sense worrying before Thurs evening forecast.
W/ only a 40 mile run to 30 fathoms I'm pretty confident i can get out by Gay Head if its going to lay down in the day. Muskegat will suck, but it always sucks w/ any sort of S swell. Trolling in 3-5's is no issue at all if you can make it out. I do not recommend going out in 3-5's in either a new boat or your 1st time offshore - wait for 2-3's and enjoy the 1st trip. Its still early; fish will be moving all over the place and I expect I have a 50-50 chance of a skunking. Cheap advice is to practice running your boat at 18 knots for extended periods of time and holding a steady course - the Albe can take it if you can run it slow enough not to knock your teeth out and compress your vertabrae! |

Yeah muskeget can be a real pain in the ass. Have run through there many times in the shark Tournament.
Yeah we have been running the hell out of the boat, and i have been offshore fishing for about 15 years. Just not with this boat yet. We are gonna wait for a good day, but to be honest i am dying to see what she is like in some weather. We ran it from wareham to home, and it was a monster going through Sakonnet point. But i will wait a couple days before making the decision...Thanks for the advice. |

I will be heading out through that way a day or two this weekend.
I have heard of few fish being caught a little further South. Those areas should start producing pretty soon if not already. I am going to give it a good shot this weekend. Good Luck, VC |

Headed south of BI on Sunday. 25 Fathom-Horns.
Have heard some spotty reports with fish as far north as the mudhole. Again spotty reports but haven't had a fourth without a fish in years. It's worth a try. |
