Heading Out To The Dump Area - 7/18

My son and I are heading out to the Dump area Friday - weather permitting.

Anyone else.... besides the 100 or so boats from the Monster Shark Tournament that is.

We are looking for Tuna, etc..... not sharks.

    Any info would be appreciated.

Or is this not a good idea due to the MST ???

    Thanks
    Fin-

I would avoid running South this weekend unless you are going to the edge. There is just going to be to many boats scattered around down there getting upset at you for trolling through their slick.

    Save your fuel.

We went through the area last Saturday and it was dead.

    Avoid the show.

The annual Amityville Shark Tournament ( monster shark tournament) with all of the characters from the movie going out in large and small craft will be in full swing, with ESPN showcasing the local googan’s technique of gaff and release, slick jumping, foul language, beer swilling and rod passing.

    Yeah Right !!!!

My good friend Terry has spoken and talked us back down off of the ledge....

We will think about going to the Fish Tails instead. That is pretty much in the range for our HS 2900 CC.

First trip to the Canyons in this boat, so we're looking forward to it. Now if the weather will cooperate.

    Fish in dump

I know of people who have caught fish on the inside this week, BFT and mahi...

But it will be crowded insided.. with shark fishermen. There may be some googans(so ghey) but there will also be alot of world class fishermen who outfish alot of these guys

I'm pretty sure ESPN isn't doing it, and hasn't for a couple years now. There are a lot of good fisherman...check that great fisherman in that tournament. Don't let a couple yahoos give it a bad name.

    Dumps Area

    Fin-chaser,

Looks like I will be heading down towards the dumps, maybe even a little past Thursday 0200. Not sure how far past, depends if we can mark bait and good water temps. I was to leave Wednesday 0200 but forgot to top of the fuel tanks. I will post any results .
