    Harpoons on a CC

So just looking for people opinions on this. what size harpoon do you want for you Center Console? when i say CC i dont mean the battle ships that are out there!! Think more along the lines of the 18'-26' range. Lengths are for the harpoon and the Shank.

id say about 5.5 or 6 feet of harpoon+shank. manageable but will still have some length and weight to it for a good throw

There are two types of harpoons as I see it. There are Cockpit harpoons which are generaly short and made for sticking fish close to the boat. They are not meant to be thrown and usually are not as heavy and weighted for deep water penetration. I runa 25 foot SeaCraft and use a Poon harpoon which is about 10-12 long when all assembled and I find it is perfect for use. It is a bit longer but it is weighted in case you got to throw it at a stubburn fish down deep.

I made a 2 piece, about 8 ft so I can store it in my console. Cheap money to make if you're handy, think it was like $70.

Well when I am "real" fishing I am not toying around in a small CC... a 13' stick in a 20' boat with a 8' beam isnt functional

23' seacraft, don't seem to have an issue with the 10ft Poon. and they are available here

    I have a 21 ft SeaCraft.
The standard 11 ft Poon fits perfectly up under the gunnel.
Poon makes separate shaft pieces if you want to make it shorter.
