Great White Shark Tagged and Released on the SWEET DREAM III

The crew of the SWEET DREAM III had an experience of a lifetime Saturday. While tuna fishing we had a 7' Great White Shark come check out our kite baits and boat for 10 minutes before finally inhaling one of the baits. The gamagatsu grouper hook found it's way perfectly into the corner of the sharks mouth and after a 15 minute fight on an PENN 70 we leadered the shark. We shot some great video and decided to put one of our tuna tags in it. I taped the short tuna tag stick to the end of a gaff and poked the tag just to the right side of the dorsal fin. It was a great experience to see this animal up close and personal. The first call when we got back in cell phone range was to Dr. Greg Skomal who confirmed the catch when I sent him the pictures and video.

Bruce nice to meet you on the radio yesterday. Very cool to be able to have that under your belt.(bucket List) even nicer it did not get the leader. My buddy chink (Cod fisher) saw a nice one a couple of days ago. And we saw some kind of shark breeching the same day you got that one.

I putting my surfboard in the attic.
