Another good story from the other day, also from GDT:

    --------

This fight is going to start heating up, so stay tuned.

On a related note, too early to say much yet since the report has not been made final, but we have heard that there is a bunch of good news coming out of the recent stock assessment. Stay tuned for more on that soon, ABTA will keep everyone updated, hopefully in next couple days.

It is pretty much what you would expect from the Gloucester Times; they are preaching to the converted. For their ilk the only problems that commercial fishermen face are regulations. Never will you hear sacrilege terms such as "overfishing" or "commercial extinction". It is always someone else's fault or external factors like global warning; the fishermen are never to blame destroying their own fishery.

At meetings this week finding out more, will keep people posted. Its pretty complex, but from what I have seen so far it appears good for both east and west. As always there is "uncertainty" that some of the scientists reference, but I am still trying to sort out what they are so uncertain about. Again, will update people as the week goes on.

That said, regardless of what I find out the rest of the week, I do not trust our government to do the right thing regardless of the stock assessment findings, so we are going to have to fight hard this winter.
