Well got out today for the 3rd and probably last time this year. My son came up from NC for his grand mother's (my mothers) 90th birthday also our newest grandchild's 1st birthday in advance of 9/17. Got off to a rocky start bad ground connection on the trailer would not disengage the brakes. Got that squared away slashed at the Northport stacks at 10:45. NOAA calling for SE @ 8 Wrong more like NE @ 15. Fine for my son and myself but Madison who is 4 was not to happy. But she settled in. Ran west to Eatons Neck in search of the ferocious scup. Marking all sorts of life on the bottom but no takers. Gave it about 20 minutes then pulled up and went east to the brush piles. Immediately into fish scup and small sea bass. Fished about 2 hours kept 6 scup for the table Madison was all smiles which made my day. Pulled the boat driving back hearing a squeaking noise from one of the trailer wheels. Need to take the trailer in I think the brakes are hanging up. I need to get this fixed because the retirement/move process starts on 9/25. That is the day the boat is leaving to go to Wilmington. 167 days until retirement but who is counting?
Just wanted to share.

Barry, despite the not-so-cooperative seas, sounds like you had a banner day with your family. Thanks for the report, and congrats to your Mom on her 90th. May she live many more happy years. It could happen. My dear old grandma lived to be just shy of 107.
Oh, and lucky you (retirement). I see a fuller OTW schedule for you next season!
