I'm not going to jump completely on the "sky is falling" bandwagon, but give me a break! Yes, injuries are part of football but I'm not sure exactly how the timing of this could have been worse...

This will sting....Welker has been a HUGE part of our offense this year...I hope he will be a ble to return next season
Edelman will have to bust ass this week to get himself ready for Baltimore....
Not good. Not good at all. Hopefully they find a way to get over this one, but its not going to be easy.
You guys may have caught this, but it was Bernard Pollard who was chasing him when he made the cut that buckled his knee. Yes, the same Bernard Pollard who took Brady out last year when he was playing for the Chiefs...
Too late. The sky has fallen and it has nothing to do with Wes Welker. His injury just makes a bad situation worse.
The real problem with the Pats is the defense. Any team with a good passing game just kills them. Admittedly Brady cost them one 4th quarter touchdown with the interception.... but giving up two 4th quarter defensive touchdown to the Texans
I was thinking they would win the first playoff game and lose the next. Now I am just hoping they win the first one. I have no hope they win a second game in the playoffs.

Defense is definately not championship quality this year, but the timing of this Welker situation is a complete disaster. I feel bad for Wes as he really laid it all on the line every week for the Pats. Guy is a warrior and I wish him a speedy recovery.
Mike,
I know, it's hard to argue with you- call me the eternal optimist I guess. Thinking of all the 4th quarter leads we've blown this year makes me want to puke.
As for Round 1: I was at Gillette for the Ravens game earlier this season and we were LUCKY to escape that one (remember the dropped pass at the end of the game???). Baltimore is going to be out for revenge big time, and I think this game is going to be an out-and-out bloodbath. That said, I still believe we find a way to advance. After that, all bets are off...

i dont like the patriots im a colts fan but welker is an amazing athlete with 10 receptions a game avg. hope he comes back for all you pats fans
Remember when Bledsoe got Injured. Maybe someone will step it up. We can only hope.
What a shame. Welker makes a living with his knees and his ability to cut and be quick. Unlike a QB who might be able to get by with a little less mobility Welker as small as he is can't afford to lose a step.
In my opinion he got so emtional on the sideline because he knew exactly what happened, knew he was out of the playoffs for starters and he loves to play. And he also knew of the long road ahead of him and a potential career ending injury. No telling how a ACL/MCL reconstruction will go and his return will be short lived if he comes back at 85-90%. He takes enough abuse at 100%.
Great player. Great attitude. I wish him the best.
I expect the Pats to win a tough one against the Ravens. Then the next round go on the road and get a healthy lead at half time. Then give it all away as the offense fails to score in the second half and doesn't control the ball with sustained drives. The D which is suspect to begin with gets tired from all the offenses 3 and outs and gives up big pass plays and they lose late.
