    Gill Nets

Finally got my gill net licence this year and was looking for some advice on what type to get. I have fished with a friends 100' mono with floats on it. Alot of the ones I have been looking at have float line vs floats. What works better, whats a good place to get a decent net for a decent $$. Any help would be great.
Started getting some schoolies in the mouths of the Thames and CT this past weekend. A few more weeks and the bigger ones will be here.
    Thanks

I have been using a gill net for some time now and find that the ones with the mono holes of 1 1/2 inch (i think that is how big they are but ill check later and make sure) are just too small to catch bunker. Thank god that was only a 60 foot net that I purchased. I would recommend at least a 2 inch mono hole if your purpose is to catch bunker. And I would also recommend going down to some of the lobster boats and asking around as they usually have some old beat up nets that you could buy for cheap and fix fairly easily.

Don't take my word on the hole size yet though as I am just going off of pure memory.

And I am pretty sure stalkers sells gill nets, as that is where I think I got mine. Don't get the 60 footer though, its just a waste!
