I don't like or dislike Eric. Don't know the guy. With that out of the way, I know I tire of the non-stop bullshit banter on 68 between his minions and him. I tire of the self-promotion that goes like this.

Some dope with all his gear bought from the Hook Up: "Hey man, I just hammered another mean-ass 66 incher-things gotta go 220 at least!"

Tammy Rose: "Nice work, dude! Did you get it on the black bar I sold you or the rainbow? I've got a ton of them at the shop!"

This will be followed by some mindless jibber jabber and back-slapping over a small fish. Not that big a deal. Anyone can do it. Is it fun? Yes Is it worthy of such yammering? Hardly.

Yep, I took 68 out of the scan loop, so no big deal. These disciples of the guy who claims to be the greatest small-fish capt in the fleet are annoying as all hell. They don't know much, get in the way of other people commercial and recreational. The shit-slinging and such are a pain in the ass. Lucky for us it's pretty much confined to well-known spots and since there's plenty of ocean out there and even Eric doesn't cover it all, that's the place to be. Lucky for us again that most of these people will be going away in the next few weeks, so it won't be a big deal. Fish way east, stay away from that fleet and you have no problems.

My problem with this bullshit isn't a rec vs comm thing: if we're gonna survive this we need to work together. My problem is with the self-congratualtion and mindless bullshit on the radio. My problem is with dipshits who have no common sense and less of a clue about how to act or behave in a fleet. If Eric really wanted o help his image and give his "students" some useful knowledge he'd run a course about how to fish in a fleet. He's creating dipshits but may not know it. Maybe now, he knows it and can fix it. OK dipshits (and you know who you are) flame away. Love you lots, Washy.

It is amazing how the majority of people out there that claim to be so die hard will disappear in 2 weeks. The REAL tuna season starts Sept 1. Just turn off the radio. I cant listen to it myself, it is just endless BS.

Washaway and HeavyDuty.....couple a names we won't soon forget.

But the real question is.. who are these poor people.. really ?

They arrive at this site and the only posts that they can come up with are bashes against other people on the site. Successful people, I might ad.

I don' think that they have provided any worthwhile information to any of us, have they ????

This site seems to be about sharing and friendship more than anything else. So does that mean that these poor souls don' t have any friends or people that they can look up to or share their experiences with ?? Must be true.

I think that we should reach out to these poor unfortunate souls and extend a helping hand, as they seem to disparately need it.

Or......................tell them to F*** Off !!! Your choice as I see it !!!

    Have a nice day everyone!!!

Dave - better known as Finchaser, not the gay guy as Washedup , I'm sorry, Washashore seems to think !

I have been down this road before with the guys who won't say who they are or there boat names. You all sling it on the wall and the rest of us have to deal with it. Hide behind your silly little screen names or man up and get real. Some of you blame me for every boat that fishes out east. I do fishing seminars and I have for many years. I will continue to teach and help people who want to learn about fishing, because, fishing is learned. "Washashore" ask anyone who has been to any of my seminars and they will be glad to tell you about how I try and explain the does and dont's of fishing in the fleet. Your right you don't know me and I am sorry you feel the way you do about me but it really doesn't make a differance. My image and reputation is one of a fair and honest business man who takes care of his customers and works hard. I will log more hours east of Chatham trolling for tuna then any other charterboat out there and have done so for the last 4 seasons. That is a fact that can not not be disputed. I put the time in and I catch fish. Ask my clients. I wouldn't have the business out east unless I caught fish. I am the only full-time tuna boat out there and do not run bass charters. I get the radio calls because I fish almost everyday out there in the peak of the season. I get the calls and I try to handle them the best way that I can with as much kindness and respect that I can give. Some days are tougher than others. But that goes with the territory. If the radio bothers you than you can always change channels. I can not control what others do and for you to blame me or try and hold me responsible really shows your true colors and motivation for getting involved in this thread. I started tuna fishing over there on a sport boat in 1998 and no one would work with me and I have since formed my own networks with some of the best out there. Those of who I am glad to call my friends. What have you done for the tuna industry? Anything other than kill fish? Donated money or time for research? I have put my "money" where my mouth has been, how about you? I am responsible for every boat east of Chatham that tuna fishes?!?!??? Come on give me a break. How many tackle shops are out promoting this fishery and selling tuna tackle, but only me, Eric Stewart gets the shaft. Why? Because I have become successfull and well known. Why? Because I have broken out of the box and done things differantly and changed the way people think about fishing. Why? Because I work my ass off and have done so my whole life. Those fish are out there for all of us and anyone can go and chase them. Infact the whole idea about teaching seminars is that I have tried to help people learn the right way to fish out there and have saved them from the many mistakes that I made back in the late 90's when I started out east. So don't blame me, I am trying to do my part. Why don't you come next season to our seminar than you can comment with some authority on what I "teach", hay I will even comp you a ticket but I will need to know soon because I sold it out last year. Just send me your name and address and I will be gald to forward you a ticket Tightlines. Capt. Eric

Eric don't worry, you're not getting "the shaft", you're just getting a bunch of whining from some anonymous internet losers. Maybe comm tuna guys, maybe someone you popped for whatever back when you were a cop. Most of us know you, and respect what you do for these fish. The thing that really makes me laugh is that we all know if the commercial limit was, say, 50", these comm guys would have no qualms whatsoever about taking as many of those fish they could.

no one would work with you in 1998 because of your reputation...PERIOD
i cannot believe that you brag about having a thriving charter business centered around baby bluefin.....these fish have been there for years....when we used to troll big fish in june and july, if we got more than a few shorts in an hour we would move...it was always common knowledge to LEAVE THE SHORTS ALONE....but hey you came to town and made a business outta catching em and you brag that your the best and fish soooo many days...please, you catch rats
why didnt you work with your buddies you grew up with from rock harbor?
and hey i would throw thousands at research to if my business was subsidized by a very wealthy fellow like yours is but hey thats just me
