Eric is one of the best charter captains on the Cape. He is a competetor, a confidant and a friend and I'm pround of that.

Eric NEVER hides behind the screen and keyboard like allot of these douchebags. While he and I don't always aggree our issues are always handled face to face, man to man as they should be and then we move on. Thats what maeks Eric such a standup guy. You don't have to aggree with him, you don't even have to like him, but you have to RESPECT him! He will tell you how he feels to your face and if its something he's posted he'll put his REAL name at the bottom.

HeavyDuty - you sound like a whiney little *****. Its a big ocean with a ton of BlueFin Tuna out there. I have seen acres and acres with thousands of fish in them this year.

Become better at your own game and maybe you will be more successful financially. Either way - please stop degrading people on the internet and crying because a lot of people go fishing now. It was bound to happen with or without Eric's seminars.

Some of what you say may or may not be true, but you can't knock a guy for trying to make a buck especially in this day and age. Eric is a stand up guy in my opinion.

I have no dog in this spat..but sure looks like Captain Eric releases and takes the minimum BFT which is what his charter clients pay him to do...

Seems like a pretty good businessman and fisherman to me, jealousy I guess by the other side.

The Hook-Up! Updates
The last 5 days have been very good out east of Chatham for tuna fishing on the “Tammy Rose”. We started with returning clients, the XXXX family, and went 4 for 10 with lots of action and fish up all day in the rigs. The next trip was a rough day with Easterly wind and we missed two fish at first light and then caught two fish at the slack. Friday was an awesome day with returning clients XXXXXX and Co. We started our day by getting a bite on the long corner rod and the fish was running hard and we ended up breaking him off on the main line on the rod, maybe we chaffed him off on another fish as he was running, we will never know. We spent the next few hours trolling around and got called into a nice bite. We caught a nice fat 63 incher and the fish began to pop. We watched as our buddy baited the school perfectly and he doubled up. As he pulled his pair away we were able to get a run at the fish and we doubled up with two nice fish. There is nothing that can compare to baiting surface feeding tuna and watching them blast onto your rigs. We had three up at once and thank god we didn’t triple. Corey had to uncross the rods 4 times. Both fish were tagged and released, one was 66” and the other was 67” and fat. We grabbed one more fish and that was the biggest of the day at 68 inches and he was tagged and released. We certainly had some awesome visual sights for our customers.
Yesterday we had three clients out and we landed three fish and had numerous other bites and lots of action. We kept one fish at 62” and tagged and released two around 52 inches these represent a smaller class fish, which is good to see. Today was a tough one but we still managed to get 2 fish, both around 52 inches but the weeds were tough and the fish were hard to catch. We had two boats steaming through the trolling fleet cutting everybody off as they tried to cast. They never did hook up but they really were not using their heads. All of these fish were caught on the troll using spreader bars and splash bars. So we will be out in the morning, again, and then off on Tuesday then we are booked for the next 8 days.

This is the same old BS that has been going on for years. Sportfisherman vs. commercial fisherman. I have always come form the sport side of the equation and have been on sport and charterboats my entire life. I have never been against commercial fishing and have fought for the small boat fisheries my entire life. I have donated more then $10,000 in real time money for the UNH Tagging project and I have over 300 bft tuna tagged and released with their tags. What have you ever done for the tuna fish other than kill them? This guy has a hard on for me and has followed me around with the same old rant. I grew up here and I have fished here my whole entire life. I grew up with some of the best commercial fisherman in Chatham and two of them started on the charterboats in Rock Harbor like me, they left and went to the commercial side and I stayed on the sport\charter side. I have been running boats for 26 years and have owned my own boat for 20 years. I have been a hired private Captain and I have run a few differant sport boats. It's always too bad when I see this kind of BS but that is just how life goes. Oh and by the way, what do you think those other "Chatham" charterboats catch and kill and promote through thier websites... That's right tuna, "Baby Tuna". So they are no differant then me. Would you catch and kill and sell a 76 inch fish? Yes you would, in a minute and that fish hasn't spawned yet so that makes you a "Baby" killer too. A dead fish is a dead fish. Friends? I am not looking for friends. I do what I do, you do what you do. Join me, beat me, or get out of the way. That is the way of the world. I have a family to support and you cowardly attack me and my business on a public website. You might want to look into sportfishing as a career change, many of your "friends" have come over to the dark side of Charterboats. Should I start naming all "your" friends names who use to be Comm. fisherman and now are "Sporty" boat capt's.
