I went down to Long Island New York last Friday to pick up a 54 Viking and bring it back up to Cape Cod. I saw $5.15 a gallon for diesel!!! We were up on the north fork of Long Island, Mattapan inlet? I couldn't get over the price, thank god the boat had plenty of fuel in it when it was put away for the winter.

I believe that Diesel on the water is not subject to the same taxes as highway diesel. I saw something that said that tax was at least .50 cents, so that's worth keeping in mind when comparing to the diesel price at the station.
