Exclamation Gas/diesel prices

I had an idea come to me, maybe it will catch on maybe it won't. Everyone either already has the boat ready to go and is in the water, or will be in the next couple of weeks. What if we use this post as a report to how much we just paid a gallon for gas/diesel on the water and where we bought it from? It seems we have a lot of people from many different states in the NE, so this could work. Maybe it will help us all save a buck or two this year with the rising fuel cost. So if you just filled up, post it up, where and how much.

I went down to Long Island New York last Friday to pick up a 54 Viking and bring it back up to Cape Cod. I saw $5.15 a gallon for diesel!!! We were up on the north fork of Long Island, Mattapan inlet? I couldn't get over the price, thank god the boat had plenty of fuel in it when it was put away for the winter.

I believe that Diesel on the water is not subject to the same taxes as highway diesel. I saw something that said that tax was at least .50 cents, so that's worth keeping in mind when comparing to the diesel price at the station.
