Furuno FCV 295

Is anybody here running or have experience with the Furuno FCV 295?
Secondly - is there any appreciable difference between this unit and the 1150 other than size and an extra $1500?
Looks like our Simrad needs to be replaced and I'm told this unit is compatible with the current transducer (Simrad Combi 38/200 khz).

I looked at it when we replaced one on the r/v, but it was too big for my dash on the RoMarine.

we ended up with one of the 580 series. Used multiple Furuno color sounders, never been disappointed.

with some tuning on a glass day, I could see my cod jig bouncing in 135ft with a 600 series....

I could do that with the simrad too. Really nice when you drop down on tuna marks and can see your bomb on the machine.

295 got ordered today. When I'm back up and running, you should come out.
