I just got home from my journey to Rhode Island for some fluke fishing. Eben, His daughter Jenna, My dad and I went up to fish the Frances Fleets Jumbo Fluke/Seabass trip for 2 days. Monday we sailed with 28 people. Capt. Rich decided to try some different spots a little further east to see what they yielded. At these spots we picked a few fluke. I tried my hand at jigging fluke for the 1st time using spro jigs. I had one good run off that felt like a really solid fish. My rod rod was bent so hard toward the bottom with a bit of drag being peeled. A few cranks later it was gone. I missed like 8 other bites. I would get the bite then they were gone. I switched back to the normal bait thing and put 3 fluke in the boat and a seabass. What made the day more frustrating was my dad who must have been hi hook on the boat every time I turned around he was hooked up to a fish. Our total for the day was 15 fluke and a seabass.
Today we sailed with 39 people. Capt Rich decided we would start a little short of where we finished up on Monday. Well this paid off. There were bent rods all over the boat. This spot held some really nice size fluke. I once again tried jigging and I can say I have never ever been so frustrated fluking before. I missed at least 10 fish but did get 1 keeper fluke another seabass and a blue. So I missed the best bite of the day screwing around jigging. I did put 2 more fluke in the boat later in the day. I also got the most unique catch, the catch of the day a 5 pound rock. Eben was hi hook between the 4 of us with 4 fluke and 5 bluefish. Jenna had 3 fluke including one that was 26inches weighing in at over 8 pounds. My dad ended the day with 3 fluke. We had the same total as Monday but our total catch weight was 10-15pounds heavier than Mondays. A great time was had by all and I look forward to going back up soon and catching some more fluke.

Nice report and pics. Chris !! You look a lot bigger with your winter gear on. LOL. Why do you guys have skivie shirts on and Jenna has a hooded sweatshirt on ??
I'm not too sure why Jenna had a sweatshirt on. I had one on in the morning though when it was cloudy while we were moving but after that I felt like I didn't need it. That rock felt pretty good at first. My rod bent right over then took a little drag then I thought I had a big skate or a very very lazy fluke because there was just some weight and I was wrong in both guesses. I never thought I would bring in a rock. Most of the time I hook them they prove too big and I have to break off.
