heading out saturday morning to fish CCBay - on the hunt for some stripers...and maybe some bft!! not exactly sure where, but we'll be trying! Fishing on a friend's boat, but we'll be on 68. have a great weekend!!
if you're looking for mackeral, the mouth of the N River had a ton of them. right below the surface, not 10' deep. used straight green sabaki rigs, as well as green/pink. coolest site, would have multiples hooked, with dozens more eager to be hooked...which, eventually they were...haha!!
Had a 7yr old with us...i have to say watching the excitement of him watching all the macks around the boat, and reeling in multiples at a time was truly an experience!! live lined macks at the mouth, got tight a few times, but nothing worthy boated. headed up into the various channels, live lining as well. got tight with a 29" on an ultralight - i honestly have to say watching Mr. 7yr old real in all by himself was a very cool...words hard to discribe. crazy thing is its' his 2nd keeper ever, and 2nd this week!! he's got a great future...mabye one day he'll be posting here.
oh yeah, pods of pogies schooling on the surface same area as we found the macks.
