It’s hard to believe that November is here already and for most folks in the Northeast that means time for the boat to be hauled and winterized, but not for all! If you are one of the cautious boaters who has already hauled and winterized, don’t forget about your tackle! Your Rods and Reels need to be properly cleaned/serviced at the end of every season to get rid of all that salt that has been accumulating throughout the season. The sooner you get them in, the less time the salt has to corrode and ruin your gear.
The Bass and Blues for the most part have made their yearly migration from the area, with just a few remaining for the adventuresome Surfcaster.
When the weather cooperates, the fishing this time of the year can be “lights out” for some other species, though. The Bluefin Tuna bite is still going on pretty strong throughout New England, some of the giants are being reported right outside Provincetown on the Southwest Corner of Stellwaggen Bank. Smaller fish in the 50”-70” are being taken regularly on 48” Black Magic Squid Bars.
There has been mixed bag of Cod and Haddock at the Northeast Corner of Stellwagen as well as Tillies Banks for all the bottom dunkers. Occasional schools of Racer Pollack have been reported as well.
