The core in the photo was 25 pounds and it was one of the smaller ones we caught, the largest one went to a friend that was on the trip because it was his birthday

Nice catch. Albies are good eating when fresh, for freezing, you have to vacuum seal them and don't wait too long to eat them.

I used to overnight on a 25 express at the canyons. Never felt unsafe but I sure was uncomfortable some nights, especially in the fall. It can get friggin cold out there, and without heat, or hot food, or hot coffee, your bones start to feel it at about 3 am and you never quite warm up again. Then, trying to get some sleep is double tough. 1 bunk (vee birth) makes it hard for more than one person to catch a nap, so you are sleep deprived. Add no generator and you are conserving light.

I'm much happier on a larger ride. But congrats for bringin home some nice fish.

Peligic Addicted, your responses have been polite and reasoned on the couple threads I read even when people were questioning you. Good for you and congrats on a good trip. Just think, and re-think your safety plans. That little girl is too cute to put her Dad at risk (I am assuming she is yours). She needs you.

Mike, even with a buddy boat, I would double think the trip. Both your boat and mine have the range to make the trip. But neither has the range to tow each other back from that trip. I doubt the buddy you are refering to has better range than I do. So if you are with him, he will save your life. But it will cost you your boat if things go wrong. Worth the risk? Your call. I know you are safety minded.

    Mike
Thank you for the compliment and yes the little girl in the photo is my 6 year old daughter Angelica. when it comes to safety I don't think I can fit anymore safety equipment on my boat, its all there even a survival suite for every person on board. I hope that I am responding properly to all I am not a computer savvy individual
