First of the year - East Sunday

We (ubettcha, my boys and I) went east on Sunday and got a slot fish before the morning slack. The interesting part was the fish was full of herring.... good sign. The rest of the morning "life" and marks were spread out and scattered. They were there but not eating...

I would assume that things would have come together again on the afternoon slack, but we started for home at about 11. A very early morning departure, school for the kids today, and an increasing north wind (forecast said it would die, but with diner in the box why risk it), cause us to cash in our chips and walk away a winner.

Solid start to the season.

Rich is two for two on his trips out east, hopefully the canyons turn on soon as I know he is itching to get out there. Congrats on the fish.

Dan, I saw.... Congrats. I can only take solice in the fact that even though your girl (fish) was prettier, mine came home with me. Good start for the year for both of us.

Thynnus, Rich is the best. Plain and simple. In the evening on Saturday night, he was teaching my boys to throw a cast net. He can't help himself. If someone wants to learn something about fishing, he is compelled to teach them. Great guy to hang around with. My boys love him... he has been a great friend and mentor to me as well.
