First Tunas of 2011?

I heard reports of two tuna being taken this past weekend.

One was caught on a squid bar, the other on live bait, both somewhere out on Stellwagen. One of the fish was supposedly 78 inches in length.

Can anybody confirm?

Isn't the northern trophy still open for the time being?

We were out on Sunday East of Chatham and we saw fish in that size range rolling on the surface but not biting what we were offering. Ton of life out there and foggy as hell.

Yes but the season does not open until today June 1st for any category!

The Rec. category never closed. It has been open all spring. capt. eric
