I finally made it to the cape for some tuna fishing or should I say attempted tuna fishing.I trailered my boat from CT and launched out of Sandwich Mass.A buddy I was fishing with said we should go to a spot off PT so we jig up some live bait and head for the fishing grounds as we get close I can see what looks like a hundred boats and a few planes in the air now I'm thinking to my self how new I am to this game and how ugly things could get if I happen to make any mistakes or drift to closely to another boat.Well I decide to set up on the outside of the fleet and just keep my distance I open the bag to the kite set up I just baugt and seeing all the other kites in the air think this wont be all that hard well forget it I try ed for an hour to get the kite off the deck and then reach into my bag for a few balloons much easier.after about three hours of drifting and moving with live bait i see my balloon moving against the current and then the rod bent over but no drag was taken its a bass this happens four times during the day and at one point I'm thinking of throwing that forty inch striper over the side with an 11/0 jobo big game hook in em but I don't I let em all swim away safely.at one point we thought we were going to see a stick boat poon a fish but it never happened I didn't see not one boat fighting a fish yesterday does anybody know if fish were caught off PT Friday or was I the only sunburned and aggravated one on the water.on a positive note I did get to whale watch all day long.
