I know this reel has some durability issues, but I just picked it up cheap recently and i'm looking to match it with a good rod for tuna. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks

How expensive a rod are you looking to pair it with? I'd be happy to run you through the options we have with their respective merits. give us a call. Thanks Nat

For the price, i like my tsunami 7' rod rated 20-40 pound line and 1-6oz lures. Tons of back bone, and gets the job done for under $100!!!

Keep in mind on this picture the fish is straight up and down with 28 pounds of drag on the rod!

I have heard the durability rumors myself but have not seen a failure in any of our four of em... We use em pitching primarily on custom sticks with 30-40 pound test... I just picked up some cheap Ugly stiks BWS1102 Heavy action 30 pound to go with em when we travel. (Long rods don't store well on our boat).

Unless you fish extremly hard these reels hold up very well. We have not had one return on them and for the money they work very well. Lots of new rod choices this season so check out the shows. Capt. Eric

Just got that same reel..I bought a 30-50lb blank composite/Eglass for it and built one, very comfortable combo. 6'6". Saco Bay tackle has some good custom rods for it, same with the other shops. They ranged from 150 to 300 up there.

    Fin-Or 95 spinning reel

The only problem that I had with the 85 series is that the screw that holds the bail roller on came off. I was unable to find the roller andscrew in any cape tackle shops and had to order on line. I had read on another site (before I bought the reel) that this was a problem. I just forgot until it happened. Just take the bail screw out and put a bit of lock tite in there. I caught several 100 plus fish this fall and the reel was nice. I have the 85 which held 400 yds 80 braid. The 95 is humungous and heavy.
