our school and medium bluefin season is finally winding down. a great season for all! mid june thru mid october found bluefins down the backside of cape cod as well as on stellwagen bank. depths of water ranged from 60 feet to 240 feet. the ever present halfbeak was the main table fare. trolling, jigging and spincasting all produced. overcast days with a slight chop most productive. BIG MAC for the most part caught legal size limits on all trips. many 65 to 72 inch brutes were caught and released. next season we plan on trying an eight spread formation while trolling. tangle city i expect! off to rhode island for winter codfishing then back to stellwagen in the spring. chasing charlie in mid june. best, capt. jim
