Got a question...anyone have personal experience with the Furuno FCV1100 paired with a Furuno CA50b-12 transducer (50 khz, 2 kw and 16x16 degree)?
In the past I had the FCV1100 with a 50/200 thru hull and it marked tuna great. I think the cone was 28 degrees. You could see tuna streaking up and down in the water column, but now with the new boat my system doesn't seem to mark as good. I would think it would be better... Both the ducer and machine are checked out and working/paired fine.
Any suggestions on the various settings and sub menus to set up the machine for tuna? The manual gives little to no help. Furuno has one guy who has experience fishing and working with this machine and he is out until late October.
That machine is one of the best fish finders I have ever used. We could mark everything, there are some filters that can be adjusted deep in the menu prompts. I used to have the machine so dialed in NOBODY was allow to touch it. I marked perfect upside down V's, my sinkers, bait, whales, herring, pollock, etc. If your drifting bait for Giants you NEED a good fish finder!!!!!!!!My shop is in Falmouth I can take a ride over to your boat if you want. Give me a shout at the shop 508-495-1900
Hi Dogfish...I would have agreed...but we were making the "suspicious" marks and went off and landed an 800. With that said the marks still didn't look convincing.
