It may be humane but still hard to watch the end of so many of "our" fish.

Guys pretty good with that thing, though
talk about shooting fish in a barrel ... makes you realize that purse seining / tuna "ranching" is pretty shitty in the face of all the conservation and fisheries management we work for, and it's hard to think of it as 'fishing'...
those tuna gotta be pretty stressed too - you'd think they'd taste like it
... but the guy is pretty handy with that banger
Lets start a Tuna Wars show, where we cut the nets and release 10's of thousands of tuna![]()
The only way to stop this crap is a world-wide ban on the sale of bluefins for a few years (many?) until their numbers build up again. Anything less means their extinctions. Even Carl Safina wants no-sale. Quotas and seasons and limits have not worked and will never work; it did not work for waterfowl or shorebirds or black bass etc.; the only solution that will save the bluefin is no-sale.
looks like fun to me. I would take that job!
And on the seventh day he rested!
You need to let the fish rebuild itself and i mean all fish.
I believe we should give every species a year off every so many years, maybe every 7 years.
Carl Safina is one of the most anti-commercial people on this planet, so the statement above is kind of like saying that humans need to breathe to stay alive...
As for banning the sale of fish, I think everyone here knows my views on that one, so will not go into it again.
