What a beautiful day on board today Friday, July 2nd on board RELENTLESS with a gentle breeze and a fantastic group of anglers aboard for a shared charter. Today on board were Mark Bellaire and his friend Craig from Clinton, ME which is north of Augusta. Ken Rudman and his young son Ben from Rhode Island, Brian Dumser and Bernie Thomas both from the local Massachusetts area rounded out the group for the day.
After storing rods and gear aboard and completing introductions and a safety brief Capt Dave Decastro departed the dock, easing out through the mooring field and bringing up the speed once they cleared the jetty and the diesel engine warmed up. On board today was Capt Curt who decided to fill in as mate and with two highly qualified captains on board how could this group go wrong?
After steaming out to the east of Stellwagen Bank Captain Dave brought the boat to a stop and the group of anglers sent the jigs to the bottom. In the early morning it was a slow pick with a few fish being caught to go into the box and many sub legal fish also caught.
Once the tide turned the action heated up with everyone having bent rods and bringing cod to 20 LBS aboard along with about ten nice big pollock.
By days end the group caught their legal limits of cod, about ten pollock and had over one hundred sub legal fish which were returned to grow up for another day.
All of the fish were caught on different style jigs and teasers. On the way home, Curt filleted the iced down catch and everyone went home with bags stuffed with cod and pollock.
I want to personally thank each angler for fishing with us today on the RELENTLESS open boat charter and we look forward to seeing you on board once again. Thank you for your patronage and we hope you and your families have a happy Fourth of July and enjoy the fish.
Relentless Charters has dates available for this great fishing for both shared and private trips. If interested please contact Capt Dave at captdave@relentlesscharters.com
Respectfully,
Captain Dave
