Sucks for them, they're going to jackpot.

Its generally not insurance nor the forest service permit for the season expiring that causes the report to close. Its all about skier traffic. The vast majority of the people who would ski this late in the season hold a seasons pass. Those people don't pay for lesson's, eat $10 Hamburgers and spend nearly as much as someone who comes up for the day. Works the same way out west. The only reason Snowbird stays open so long is that they can run one lift, the Tram and serve the whole resort. Plus the tram runs year round for maint anyways.

THE 00Z GFS. THIS HAS BIG IMPLICATIONS FOR AREAS IMMEDIATELY EAST
OF OUR CURRENT SNOW/RAIN LINE. AS A RESULT...AM UPPING SNOW
AMOUNTS FOR EASTERN HAMPDEN...EASTERN HAMPSHIRE...AND MIDDLESEX
COUNTIES IN MA AS WELL AS SOUTHERN HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY IN NH...AND
HARTFORD AND TOLLAND COUNTIES IN CT. NAM 2M TEMPS DROP TO THE LOW
TO MID 30S IN THOSE AREAS AFTER THE PRECIPITATION BEGINS IN
EARNEST THIS EVENING...WHICH IS ABOUT 3 DEGREES COLDER THAN
CURRENT GRIDS REFLECT. THIS WILL NECESSITATE THE EXPANSION OF
ADVISORIES ABOUT ONE TIER EASTWARD.
