    EZ Twist Haywire Tool

Anyone know where you can pick up one of these for larger haywire twist, " such as leaders for sharkin" I believe I have lost the one I had and all the ones I'm finding online are smaller, mostly for pike fishing!!!!!

Mine was Brass and maybe 3 inches long...

    Thanks

If you are talking about the du bro tool (Bullet looking thing) they only make the 2 smaller sizes now. The larger of the 3 has been discontinued. I was looking for one myself. It looks like i will have to try to learn to do a haywire twist with my bare hands or get one of the $300 machines. There are a few other hand held ones made by other manufactures such as AFW, but i have never used one and have never seen one used. But for under 20 bucks it may be worth it to get one and try it out..

The one I had is the bullet looking thing, they have the machines, but for heavy gage shark wire your looking at 399.00, and it looks like it has to be screwed down to work. I can't find anything out there....makes no sense why they would discontinue, such a great tool.......

I have one if anyone wants to copy it. When I was taught how to twist wire before this tool came out, we used two small pieces of wood and vise grips to hold the wire.

Tuna Wishin- pm sent with my address.

Will make a prototype for testing then can set up the CNC to mass produce.

For that matter I would be interested in making any other gagit needed for the offshore fishing industry.

TMack, the best haywire twist is made using simple hand tools! I would test any twist made with a gadget before running to the shark grounds with it! Many of them don't make a tight enough twist to hold under a lot of pressure.
