Nickel plated brass, VERY easy to make.

One problem, the patent number stamped on it! I am going to contact Dubro and see what they think.

techiniclly, if I improve the design they will have no recourse.

How long do Patents last? I thought they expire after a certian period of time. These things have been around for years.

I think a patent is good for 15 years.

Patent duration, or the time a patented invention or design is protected against infringement from other companies or individuals, varies according to the type of patent you have been granted. Utility patents and plant have a different duration than design patents.

Anyone know where you can pick up one of these for larger haywire twist, " such as leaders for sharkin" I believe I have lost the one I had and all the ones I'm finding online are smaller, mostly for pike fishing!!!!!

Mine was Brass and maybe 3 inches long...
