East of Chatham Thursday Sept 1

I have been off Cape since early July. Can someone share some intel, either pre or post-Irene? I will likely be on the water 6am to early afternoon. Low tide is around 10am. I will scout around for some rec sized tuna, but also plan to put a couple stripers and bluefish in the cooler. Are the stripers and blues still off the new break? Any suggestions on where the schoolie blue fins have been lately? Please send me a PM. Not trying to burn a spot.
    Thanks,
    Ed

Beautiful day on the water. Disappointing fishwise. Headed out the new Chatham break at 6:30am, low tide around 10 am, but seemed lower. As I headed East, at the point of the Southern most market buoy, the water was VERY shallow, I ended up churning up some sand, almost got stuck. Seemed like it would be impossible at low tide. (I have a 21' outboard.)

Headed East to around 120', and North to the Nauset CG station, headed toward shore to find dogfish finning on the surface among the pots. Stopped to jig under scattered birds, in several spots, finding dogs and one skate. Saw one whale in 80' of water.

Joined up with the fleet of jigging boats just South of the new break in 40' of water. Caught a large bluefish on a deep diving plug, jigged up countless dogfish. Some guys jigged up nice stripers, but just dogs for me. Went down to the C buoy just south of Chatham light, trolled for a while, but it was barren.

Heard no reports of tuna caught. Saw no tuna. Maybe by the weekend.

No fish for me pretty barren but headed back tomorrow with hopes of different day different fishery. Trilled shallow and out to about 250 before finding whales just off Chatham light in about 75 foot but alas it was only whales.

Fished those same whales from first light til 1145 Friday. Stopped for a sounder check as I had planned to run up north more. It looked good so we put in. Saw you guys roll in later. Great bait, birds, and bubble feeding. Only marked a couple fish the whole day. Bushwacker said he was seeing them but we werent. I couldnt believe the lack of boats out the fri before a holiday.
