What will actually come of this storm remains to be seen, but regardless this is still one nasty forecast for the Gulf of Maine:

Thu Night
SW winds diminishing to 10 to 15 kt. Seas 5 to 9 ft with S to se swell...highest se.
Fri
NW portion...winds shifting to E and increasing to 20 to 30 kt. Seas 6 to 10 ft. Se portion...S to se winds 15 to 20 kt increasing to E 30 to 40 kt. Seas building to 10 to 16 ft. Showers and tstms developing.
Fri Night
E to NE winds 35 to 50 kt...except se portion increasing to 50 to 65 kt and to 80 kt near the center of Earl. Seas building to 14 to 26 ft...except se portion to 26 to 40 ft...highest se.
Sat
Tropical storm conditions...except E portion hurricane conditions expected early. Winds then diminishing to W to SW 20 to 30 kt late. Seas subsiding to 6 to 11 ft late...highest E.

Hopefully we do not see anything close to that in the near shore waters. Stay safe everyone, this is not one to mess with!
