    Dip net bingo

I have never seen this one before. This was caught around Atlantis canyon in 78 degree water. It looked like a jelly fish floating in the lights. Seaworm was playing dip net bingo and scooped the little guy only to discover it was some weird fish. It had two luminous strings about 24 inches long coming off the fins and was just drifting around like a jelly. It did swim away after the photo op. Can anyone ID this?

I don't think either. Those long stringy things on the cooler lid are part of this fishes anatomy. They had a luminous glow to them and trailed about 18-24 inches off of the dorsal and pelvic fins. Cool little guy.

We were over the edge in the deep drifting in about 4500 feet of water.

Hmmm...this is a tricky one. Only sure why to know if it's a lookdown vs a. pompano is if seaworm ate it.

No flavor comaparison from Seaworm on this one. I think the tentacle thingies made him think twice.

I think juvie African Pompano could be the winner.
