Cross over lures "bass/tuna"

I don't have a lot of extra scratch with the economy the way it is so I was looking to max my dollars. What would you consider a cross over lure "soft plastic prefered" one for bass and tuna???

Hammered jigs or straight up diamond jigs. Beef up the hooks and rings. Cheap and effective.

I pass on the butterfly jigs. Not necessary in my opinion.

I would think there are a few "Crossover" baits both hard and soft that could be used for both bass and tuna, but Bass and Tuna are 2 different aninmals. Some bass baits are not built strong enough to use for tuna. Of the ones that are some still need minor mods made, like stronger split rings and hooks. Make sure you re rig those baits what ever they are with the required hardware that can handle the tuna.

By the way the crossover works both ways and with different fish. I know my bars are irrisistable to Bluefish and bass in the early season.

definitely upgrade the split rings and hooks on anything that is intended for bass- I had one tuna fish on this year- I have a small boat and you only get so many chances- the fish blew the split ring out of a custom plug in about 18 seconds and I am still angry over it

Ocean Lures are not cheap (or as cheap as soft plastics, Slugos), but they are quality and strong. Great lures, and a good crossover. I have a few in my bag.
