Crimson Tide Tuna Report - Its not over

For this trip I had returning customers Nick, Chris, Rich and new comer Pat. Fred was working the pit keeping the guys entertained with what was going happen to the tuna we were going land. Nick had been out with me late June for a half day tuna and half day groundfish trip. We ended up pulling the hook after a prolonged battle with a really nice tuna. The guys went on to hammer cod and haddock. But the tuna was haunting them. Well they got their shot.
We had small pods of mixed size fish all over the southern part of the bank all day. The fish were finicky and not up for long. Finally I got the boat over a nice pile and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. FISH ON. Fred sees the explosion on the bar and gives me the evil little grin he is famous for and says it’s a good one. Poor tuna the foreplay has begun. Chris is first up on the rod and does battle on the 50 for 30 minutes before passing it off to Pat who finishes off the fish in short time. Nick is enjoying himself taunting his college buddies the entire time. Fish comes boat-side, I leader him and Fred poons him. Redemption for Chacharone and the boys. Great guys and they deserve it. Fish taped out at 75” and gutted weighed 233.

Who said you can't catch a tuna with a seaworm...at least he looks them in the eye while mounting.

    That's Fred

If you look close you can almost see why they call him "Sea Worm".

The bank can get lonely this time of year!
