I just reread this nightmare, and my eyes are bleeding.I'm still good,I guess, but I need to replace the hydrostatic release on my epirb housing.

I suppose you're right,but then I'd need a float-off mount.I guess?
Ya, I just have it mounted underneath my leaning post.
You don't say what EPIRB you have, but on my ACR GlobalFix Cat 1 it takes about 10 seconds or less to pop out the expired one and install the new HRU-100 H/S release (Less than $90 with a quick i/n search.) It took a few more seconds on my older Alden Cat 1.
I'd be curious to know what people have paid to have that done.![]()
It's an ACR Cat 1.I meant if I could do it myself, legally.Every year,I try to get more legal than last year, and I'm looking good right now, less the H release.I've gotta get checked out at the dock by the CG.The way the regs read, its a tossup.Maybe I'm good, maybe not.
I wonder how many people are TOTALLY legit,re lights and whistles on vests AND gumby suits.....flares,smokes and parachutes?Aaaaaaarggggghhhhhhhh!lol
