2011 Cod fishing is off to a great start. Stellwagen bank is loaded again this year with limit catches on Cod every trip so far. The Haddock and Pollock are adding to the hundreds of pounds of fish on every trip. Cod fishing in May is sure to be outstanding. The bite only stays like this for a month or two. So get off the couch and fill the freezer. If you catch your limit on one of our boats you win a free Old Harbors hat. You can see how the crew did on this trip.
Sorry for my lack of reporting but we have been busy cutting fish and cleaning the cod poop off the boats. As you guys can see by all the Cod fishing threads Stellwagen bank is loaded with great fishing. as a matter of fact we have been topping off the totes just a few miles from shore. The drop offs 70 and 130 are producing some nice market fish and even the short trips are a great way to get some nice fresh white meat into the freezer. when I get some time I will post some of the great Cod fishing pictures from this season on this thread.
Ahhh the Month of May has arrived it smells like warm weather is coming and the seas are calming. According to my calculations only a couple more weeks until we see some threads about tuna in Mass Bay. My rods are ready and I am Locked and Loaded.... Tuna Beware!!!!!!
