Thumbs up CMS Tackle & Custom Rods on the move!

Uh oh - CMS has moved to a new location, and it's right on Rt 6 on Pope Island in New Bedford now. It's going to be hard to resist the temptation to stop in & buy stuff...

Don't take this is spam - I have no connection to the store, and had never been to their old location. Always wanted to, but never made it as they were a bit out of the way. They are in a great location now right before the bridge into New Bedford. The building is new, and it is a pretty big retail location. They are going to increase their tackle section, and already had a decent selection of in-shore & off-shore stuff. They do great looking custom rods, and are offering other brands like Shimano, St Croix, Tsunami etc.

The guy there also said they would sell bait (fresh & frozen pogies, eels, etc), and even have a reserved slip at the adjacent marina for stop ins by boat.

It's nice to see some growth w/ all the other economic news out there, and they are doing a nice job w/ the space. I'm just pumped to have a killer tackle, rod, & bait store that much closer to home.

Right next door to the New Bedford Center for the Performing Arts. How convenient!!!

This will definitely put a crimp in business for Fairhaven B&T. I feel bad for those guys.

CMS has their sh*t together....period. Their rod builds are excellent and not overpriced as many of their competitors. They have many items in-store also that you just won't see in any other tackle shop. Funny that this thread was posted because I am just about to go check out the new location as I need 2 more custom rods to be built. The reason I am posting up is because when I find a shop that does exactly what the customer wants and will do everything to please the customer then I like to let as many people know about it as I can. Go check em out, you won't be dissapointed. Just don't forget to grab your wifes credit card as you walk out the door!

I refer to it as the "New Bedford Ballet".

As for the shop: there is going to be a Bar in that building as well (owned by someone else)-- supposed to be a fishing theme with Mounts and Pics all over the place.
That way you can go into the shop, look around, find out what you want but can't afford -- go next door, have a couple of pops, and then go back and throw down the Credit Card with reckless abandon.

I'm seeing this as a downright necessary road trip south in the near future...

I like the sound of that. Almost like the Zane Grey lounge on Islamorada, but scaled back.

The guys at CMS are a class act. I've had them do a couple rod repairs and some reel work in the past. They do very good work over there.

Great shop, if my blanks show up today, I'll be seeing the new location tomorrow.
