Very cool stuff.
Cliffs: One tag popped up off Georgia. One shark moved into the GOM and popped up of Mexico

I would love to see this data on a chart.

Maybe because it's old news and media outlets no longer care, but I haven't heard a thing about Great White sightings at all this year. Are they not around, or is it now just a common occurance?
I would have thought for sure with seals getting shot and a dead whale carcass floating around, there would be a Discovery Channel live shot for "Shark Week" by now.

we already have had one spotted on nantucket, in about 5' of water. (approx 15' long)... there around, the seals here have shifted from there usual haul out spots..i`m sure there will be more sightings, more closed beaches etc..
and shark week is usually around the 1st week in august
Shark week starts the last week in July. They are going to show some very good footage of chatham great whites from last summer during shark week on the discovery channel. Stay Tuned!
Greg Skomal just emailed me back, they're going to release a lot more information next week.
july 31st 9 pm...
When you guys going to be on there Starrfish?
I only referenced "Shark Week" because Discovery plays the commercial every 10 minutes... The point being I hadn't heard any buzz this year about GW's of Chatham, or saw any photos of them right off the beach stalking seals.
I was just curious if it was a lack of attention or if they weren't around as much this year.
Funny thing is, in the past 24 hrs I've read 4 or 5 reports of sightings, etc... so much for that.
Can't wait to see any info you get, AMarshall... pass it along if you can. Good stuff.
Friend of mine is a marine biologist for mass marine fisheries and got a hold on a slab of great white. The story goes dont fish for shark if you cant tell a mako and a great white apart! Any ways i got the honor to taste a slow cooked filet off the grill and let me tell you its good! With that being said there are whites around because this happened just a few weeks ago off of the cape. Note: The majority off the shark went to research!
not sure of the days, but heres the link to the previews
